Endemol secures Mam Tor first-look deal

Endemol Worldwide Distribution has secured an exclusive three-year development and distribution deal with new UK prodco Mam Tor Productions.

Endemol’s sales arm will provide development funding and deficit financing in return for rights to programming coming from the prodco.

Mam Tor launched in April this year with former film and TV agent Tally Garner at the helm. Garner launched the Curtis Brown agency’s production wing, Cuba Pictures, which is behind the upcoming BBC One series Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell.

Through that series, Cuba Pictures is affiliated with Far Moor Media, the production and financing house Endemol owns through its acquisition of Artist Studios earlier this year.

“Tally’s track record of producing award-winning feature films and television combined with her fantastic network within the literary world speaks for itself,” said EWD CEO Cathy Payne.

“I am thrilled to be launching Mam Tor Productions with such a formidable partner and building on the great relationship begun on Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell,” added Garner.
