News brief: Nat Geo Asia chronicles The Journey to North Korea

The National Geographic Channel in South Korea has acquired The Journey to North Korea, a one-off doc about the secretive state.

The special is slated to go out on Nat Geo next month.

It was made by a reporting team from Hong Kong-based Phoenix Satellite Television, which struck the programming deal with Nat Geo.

Phoenix has been reporting from North Korea since 2009 and The Journey to North Korea documents life in the country under the rule of new leader Kim Jung-un (pictured).
