Nat Geo orders tribe survival series

National Geographic has ordered Survive the Tribe, a six part series for its US and international channels that will be produced by UK indie Icon Films.

The show will follow survival instructor Hazel Audel as he travels to inhospitable places to showcase ancient survival skills.

Destinations include the Kalahari Desert, where Hazen joins an elite group of San Bushmen, Mongolia, where he spends time with a Kazakh clan and Arctic Canada, where he works with Inuits to harvest for food beneath shifting sea ice.

The series will debut on National Geographic Channel in the US and UK in July. It will go out on the other international Nat Geo channels later in the year.
