HBO orders new Danny McBride comedy

HBO has commissioned Vice Principals, a new comedy series starring Eastbound & Down‘s Danny McBride.

The eighteen episode series was created by McBride and Jody Hill, the same pair that created Eastbound & Down, which ran to four seasons on HBO and was produced by Will Ferrell’s Gary Sanchez Productions.

The new show will be set in a high school and focus on the vice principals that run the institution.

Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming said: “Danny McBride and Jody Hill have created a smart, rowdy and unpredictable style of comedy that we can’t get enough of. The idea of them setting their minds on high school was irresistible.”

McBride added: “HBO was the perfect creative family for Eastbound & Down, and we’re excited to pack up the van for the next adventure.”
