Nick Oz hands VIMN’s Nam GM role

Nickelodeon Networks Australia and New Zealand has appointed Jihee Nam has its VP and general manager.

Nam comes across from Viacom stablemate Viacom International Media Networks Asia, where she was VP and head of digital media.

She replaces Ben Richardson, who was promoted to senior VP and general manager of VIMN Australia and New Zealand to replace Katrina Southon in February.

From June 16, Nam will report to Richardson and be based at Nick’s North Ryde headquarters. In the role, she will oversee all Nick services and brands, including its TV channels, which are available in around 3.1 million households in Australasia.

The move returns Nam to Australia after a period working in Asia. She joined VIMN Asia in 2005 having also held positions at CNET Networks, online gaming company CCR and Korean news platform Hankook Ilbo.

In her role as VP and digital chief at VIMN Asia, she is credited with scoring content deals with CCTV in China, SBS in Korea and Gyao! in Japan.

Richardson called her “a true trailblazer who knows the value of the Nickelodeon’s brand”.
