LA Screenings 2014: BBC Worldwide strikes HBO deal

Atlantis_portrait_iconic_35mb-magazine-onlyHBO has acquired four drama series from BBC Worldwide for its Latin American service.

The commercial arm of the UK public broadcaster announced the deal during the ongoing LA Screenings.

The agreement covers a quartet of the distributor’s top drama titles: four-part biopic Fleming: The Man Who Would Be Bond, 13x45mins fantasy series Atlantis (pictured), the four-part second season of Daniel Radcliffe and Jon Hamm drama A Young Doctor’s Notebook and 1x90mins TV movie Burton & Taylor.

Fred Medina, executive VP and Managing Director, BBC Worldwide Latin America & US Hispanic said: “We’re seeing a growing demand for drama content across Latin America and this is evidenced by HBO Latin America acquiring our titles.”
