Scandi dramas receive Nordisk backing

OccupiedA trio of Scandinavian dramas currently in production have received financial backing from the Nordisk Film & TV Fund.

These are DR’s Follow the Money, SVT’s Blue Eyes (Ögon blå) and TV2’s Norwegian series Occupied.

Follow the Money has received NOK1.5 million. The 10x60mins in-house series began filming in April, and is set in the world of financial crime.

Blue Eyes landed NOK2.4 million. Another 10x60mins series, it comes from Strix Drama and is a coproduction with Swedish pubcaster SVT and Film i Väst. The conspiracy thriller is set to the backdrop of the murder of a politician ten weeks prior to elections. SVT1 plans to launch it in the autumn.

Occupied, meanwhile, has been awarded NOK2.25 million. The show is based on an original idea from novellist Jo Nesbø and has been in the works for some time.

The coproduced show counts Arte in France as a broadcaster partner, and has Zodiak Media-owned GTV Production attached. It is being shot in English, Russian and Norwegian, and is set in the near future in a world where Russia has invaded Norway.
