Zodiak poaches All3Media digital boss

Gary Woolf - photoZodiak Media’s sales division has poaches senior digital exec Gary Woolf from rival All3Media International.

Woolf has been appointed to the newly created position of head of digital, business development and insight at Zodiak Rights.

He joins from All3’s global unit, where he was senior VP, digital and business development. In this role, he had been responsible for digital strategy and activities across VOD, electronic sell through, social media and interactive.

At Zodiak, he will he formulate digital growth strategies and work cloxsely with the sales team in order to increase digital sales revenues. He will also seek to identify non-traditional digital revenues streams – perhaps looking to the increasingly popular MCN online video market – and head of a newly established insight team.

Woolf will report to Zodiak Rights CEO Steve Macallister. The pair worked together at BBC Worldwide, where Macallister was president and managing director of sales, and Woolf was VP, business development and digital. Macallister replaced Matthew Frank, who along with brother and former Zodiak CEO David Frank is now helming start-up Dial Square 86, earlier this year.

Woolf left BBCWW early last year and joined All3, where he worked to grow the Undercover Boss firm’s international digital distribution business.

“This is a key hire for Zodiak Rights and Gary will be absolutely instrumental in driving our digital business forward, as well as helping the company identify innovative new commercial opportunities as the market continues to evolve,” said Macallister. “Gary comes with a huge amount of experience and knowledge and I know he’ll contribute very positively to our business.”
