It will feature conversations with regular New Yorkers, as well as the city’s celebrity inhabitants.
The show will be made by Buscemi’s prodco Olive alongside FremantleMedia’s RadicalMedia.
AOL will launch Park Bench online in the US as part of its AOL Originals programme. FremantleMedia International will handle global sales of the show.
Buscemi, star of HBO drama Boardwalk Empire, said: “Having lived and worked in New York my whole life, I’m ready to take advantage of all it has to offer. I just need to lay down for five minutes.”
Production gets underway this month.
