MIPTV 2014: Armoza bringing Canadian formats to market

The-Killer-Inside-image1Israel-based Armoza Formats has cut a distribution deal with Quebecor Media’s QMI Content and will bring its formats to the international market.

The focus of the relationship will be shows from the French Canadian company’s TVA network.

Armoza will launch two QMI formats at MIPTV next month, one scripted and one entertainment.

Only One Knows is the top gameshow in French Canada and runs to 350 episodes on TVA. The half-hour format involves one of five celebrities being secretly assigned the ‘bluffer’ and given all the answers to a series of upcoming questions. The bluffer must win as much money as possible – while fooling the other contestants. The goal of the others is to expose the bluffer.

The Killer Inside (pictured) is a 10x60mins psychological thriller about an interrogation specialist and her team. TVA released the drama on Videotron, its streaming service, launching all episodes simultaneously.

France Lauzière, QMI Content’s executive VP said: “We are really proud to enter in a strategic alliance with Armoza Formats, and to give Quebec creative talent a strong opportunity to shine and succeed around the world. The French Canadian market has always demonstrated a highly creative profile and it’s time to put international buyers in link with it.”

Armoza already has distribution deals with China’s JSBC and Argentina’s Telefe.
