MIPTV: Twofour moving into kids distribution

LudusUK-based distributor Twofour Rights will start selling kids shows at MIPTV.

The kids slate will span preschool, live-action and teen-focussed programming.

Titles include 15x30mins fly on the wall doc series Our School. Twofour made the show for UK kids channel CBBC and follows a group of kids as they transition to from primary to secondary school.

There is also Toot The Tiny Tugboat is a 52x11mins animated series based on the Sebastien Braun book Toot and Pop! The show follows tiny tugboat Toot and his aquatic friends. The series is in production and will air in Channel 5’s Milkshake strand later this year. It is being produced by UK indie Lupus Films.

Interactive game show Ludus (pictured) will also launch internationally at MIPTV. The 20x30mins show goes out on CBBC and is produced by Boom Kids. The mechanics of the game require kids to negotiate to get their their loved ones back from space after being hijacked by villain Ludus. Viewers at home can play along with a groundbreaking dual screen format. The app has been downloaded 100,000 times.

Anthony Hughes, commercial director, Twofour, said: “Launching a kids’ section of the catalogue feels like a natural extension for Twofour Rights given the distribution expertise in the team, which will complement the production expertise in the enlarged Boom/Twofour Group. We are extremely excited to bring our first 3 kids’ titles to the market.”

Twofour said it is working on assembling a deeper slate of kids shows for MIPJunior in October.
