MIPTV 2014: Edwards, Kloiber, Worner honored

Fox’s international distribution chief Marion Edwards and Tele Munchen Group founder Herbert Kloiber are among executives who will be honored at MIPTV.

Tim Worner, CEO of Australia’s Seven West Media, and Konstantin Ernst, chief executive of Russian broadcaster Channel One, will also receive the MIPTV Médaille d’Honneur Award.

The award recognises senior executives who have made a significant contribution to the international TV market.

Edwards, president of international television at 20th Century Fox Television Distribution, oversee the US broadcaster’s global sales business and has helped local versions of shows such as Modern Family, Prison Break and Glee into production.

Kloiber is chairman of TMG, the German production and distribution giant, which also has stakes in Tele 5 and RTL 2 in Germany and ATV and ATV 2 in Austria.

Worner is CEO of the parent company of leading Aussie broadcaster Seven, while Ernst is considered one of Russia’s most influential executives having launched international formats including Survivor, Who Wants to be a Millionaire and The Voice.

The ceremony will take place at a gala dinner on Wednesday 9 April at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes, with Reed MIDEM CEO PauL Zilk presenting the gongs.
