Discovery freaks out with mind control series

Discovery Networks International has ordered The Mind Control Freaks, a ten-part fact-ent series from All3Media’s Objective Productions.

The series will be fronted by four experts in the field and examine various mind control techniques including hypnosis and peer pressure. It will roll out across DNI’s international channels from next month.

National Geographic has recently had a lot of success with brain-related programming including hit series Brain Games. The move into the brain/psychology area is a relatively new one for Discovery.

Sarah T. Davies, VP, production and development, factual for DNI, said: “The Mind Control Freaks plays in a new space for Discovery Channel. We’ve been exploring the reinvention and fusion of genres with a lot of success – and The Mind Control Freaks is set to take that to the next level as we blur the lines between science, psychology and trickery in an all-new format.”
