Nordic World adds to distributor stable

SeasideDistribution group Nordic World has agreed a deal with Denmark’s TV2 and will sell the free-to-air broadcaster’s programming internationally.

The exclusive deal means Nordic World will distribute all of TV2’s finished programming as well as formats, which were previously sold by Banijay.

The deal covers recent hit period drama The Seaside Hotel (Badehotellet), which has been the most popular new drama on TV2 in over a decade.

The SF-produced scripted series will be the main launch for Nordic World at MIPTV in April.

Espen Huseby, CEO of Nordic World, said: “TV2 is known for its fresh and original voice and its uncompromising creative standards — as is demonstrated by The Seaside Hotel (pictured), which we believe is a once-in-a-decade drama.”

Nordic World has been aggressively expanding, recently signing first-look deals with several Nordic indies. It has also acquired a majority stake in Amsterdam-based formats house Absolutely.

The company started as a JV between TV2 Norway and TV4 Sweden and already reps content from NRK in Norway and MTV3 and YLE in Finland.
