News brief: Cote Ouest African dramas headed to Cannes

African distributor Côte Ouest is bringing an Angolan Emmy-nominated soap opera to Cannes for MIPTV.

Windeck is a 120x40mins series from Angolan prodco Semba that explores the unbridled ambitions of staff at a lifestyle magazine. The show aired to success in Angola and in Portugal, where it took a 22.3% market share on RTP1.

Côte Ouest will also be in Cannes with the 26x26mins English-language remake of Ivory Coast-produced French-language drama The Story of My Life; 105x45mins Brazilian telenovela Side By Side, which comes from Globo TV; and shortform clip show Africa Zapping.
