China’s CCTV orders three Israeli formats

Extreme-Wedding-Album1CCTV has licensed a trio of projects from Israeli formats house Armoza.

Chinese state broadcaster has sealed new deals for Upgrade, House Call and Extreme Wedding Album (pictured). The agreements for the Israeli-originated shows were brokered by China’s Beijing Century Media.

House Call was created by Israeli content house United Studios and has a team of doctors help a family take a close look at their health and lifestyle. Reality Productions and Channel 10 format Extreme Wedding Album gives couples the chance to win a dream wedding based on their ability to tackle extreme challenges.

Both House Call and Extreme Wedding Album are new orders for CCTV. It has also renewed Upgrade, which goes into people’s homes and offers them the chance to win upgrades of their household items. The first season went out on CCTV-2 last September.

Wei Zheng, VP of the Business Channel at CCTV said: “Upgrade is a show that tests wisdom and courage, and is a huge hit with the Chinese viewers. We are looking forward to working on Extreme Wedding Album and House Call and are excited to continue working with formats from Armoza.”
