Vimeo launches Occupy Wall Street project internationally

99percentVimeo has launched the 99%: The Occupy Wall Street Collaborative Film on its online video platform.

The title, which follows the loose coalition of anti-globalisation activists that converged upon Manhattan’s Zuccotti Park in September 2011, had its premiere at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival before a run on the festival circuit and a limited theatrical release.

The feature doc, which was made by 100 contributors in an experimental collaborative process, can now be streamed or downloaded to own from today in all territories.

It costs US$3.99 to rent the feature and US$9.99 to buy via the Vimeo on Demand.

Filmmakers are increasingly using Vimeo and other online platforms to release projects internationally, often working around traditional release windows in the process. Last year Vimeo launched the Neil Labute feature film Some Girl(s) available on its on-demand service at the same time as it launched theatrically.
