Ovation poaches TV Guide veteran for production role

US arts network Ovation has hired TV Guide Network’s programming boss to become senior VP, programming and production.

In the new role, Scott Woodward will oversee all aspects of Ovation’s TV and off-network content, including development, production, VOD and digital operations.

Reporting in to Ovation CEO Charles Segars, he will also be in charge of the cable net’s in-house production unit, Ovation Studios, which launched in May.

Woodward was previously TVGN’s VP, programming and production. While there, he oversaw the network’s relaunch in 2004 and was responsible for in-house production teams that created more than 800 hours of content a year.

He has also been an executive producer at E! Entertainment and also worked in marketing at film producer Columbia Pictures.
