News brief: ITV champions British achievement

UK broadcaster ITV has commissioned a series from subsidiary production company Potato that will celebrate British history.

I Never Knew That About Britain will be an 8x30mins series anchored by Paul Martin in which spotlight will be shone on the more surprising and eccentric elements of the UK’s history. It will also look at great technological, artistic, scientific and political achievements Brits were behind.

Katy Thorogood commissioned commissioned the show for ITV. It will TX in 2014 as a companion series to Christopher Winn’s book series.

Producer Potato is part of ITV Studios and was launched in 2012. Its best known format is ITV daytime quiz The Chase.
