Shine names Metronome Finland MD, rebrands prodco

Shine Group has handed the interim managing director of its prodco Metronome’s Finnish subsidiary the permanent job, which has also been renamed.

Tarja Pääkkönen has been named in the role having been MD on an interim basis since June along with Mika Toivainen following Milla Bruneau’s move to rival producer Yellow Film & TV.

Furthermore, Pääkkönen will now lead a rebranded company, which will be known as Shine Finland going forward. This comes after Anne Wahlström joined the company as creative director, productions; while Tatu Ferchen has been named creative director, formats; Alex Laszlo as creative director, development; and Toivainen as financial manager.

Pääkkönen said: “It is with pleasure that I become managing director of a company supported by a highly motivated team, and Shine Group’s international network and experience. Our fresh, creative team of Anne Wahlström, Tatu Ferchen and Alex Laszlo has renewed our operations, and I believe this will quickly become evident to our clients, and our TV-audiences. The change of the company name to Shine Finland Oy is the external sign of this internal revitalisation.”

Gary Carter, Shine Group chairman, Northern Europe, added: “I am delighted that Tarja has accepted the challenge of leading Shine Finland, and has attracted such an experienced and talented team. Her appointment, her senior team and the decision to change the company name, signal a revitalization of our operations in Finland, and a new culture of creativity and quality storytelling.”
