News brief: Jonathan Ross joins Microsoft Studios

British chat show host Jonathan Ross has joined Microsoft Studios as an executive producer.

Microsoft has signed with the interactive arm of Ross’ Hotsauce production company, which develops apps and games. The move comes as Microsoft moves further into TV productions as its next generation Xbox One console gears up to be an all-purpose content device.

The deal will Ross, famed for his BBC and ITV chat shows, consult on IP development across a number of platforms, including TV.
