Endemol moves formats boss to branding role

Endemol has appointed Ingrid Akkerman director, brand relations. She takes the role having been at Endemol since 2002, most recently as senior manager, formats distribution.

Ingrid-AkkermanIn her new position Akkerman will launch local partnerships with brands, working with Endemol’s teams around the world. The role covers integrating brands within Endemol properties and other sponsorship and product placement opportunities across TV, mobile and online platforms.

Akkerman has already started in the new role. She will report to Endemol’s executive director commercial affairs, Branco Scherer.

He said: “Ingrid’s appointment is a reflection of the increasing significance of brand relations for our business as a global content creator for all platforms. She has an outstanding track record of leveraging global entertainment brands and I’m delighted she’s agreed to take on this role.”

The appointment follows the reorganisation of Endemol’s commercial business earlier in 2013, which saw the formation of a new Group Commercial Board, chaired by Endemol UK CEO Lucas Church and comprising senior Endemol executives from around the world.
