Iceland’s Baltasar Kormákur relaunches TV and film business

Icelandic filmmaker Baltasar Kormákur has rebranded and relaunched his TV and film production company and is working up a slate of new series.

Formerly Blueeyes Productions, the prodco is now known as RVK Studios, playing on the company’s base in the Icelandic capital of Reykjavik.

The TV development slate includes Trapped, a 10x60mins drama about an Icelandic serial killer; EVE Online, a 13x45mins sci fi series; and First Degree, a crime/family drama set in Reykjavik.

The company already produces animated series Hulli and the local version of Got Talent. There is also a slate of features in development and Kormákur is making Everest, which will star star Josh Brolin and Jake Gyllenhaal.
