RAI Trade welcomes Great Family
Italy’s RAI Trade is taking the trip west to Cannes to launch major drama series Une Grande Famiglia (A Great Family).
The drama has a cast of popular Italian actors and follows the lives of a family of an important design furniture company. Pubcaster RAI’s commercial arm Trade says nearly a quarter of all TV viewers tuned in to the first season and a second, 8x100mins season is being produced.
Also on the slate are Una Mamma Imperfetta (An Imperfect Mum), which comes from Indigo Films and is a comedy about family life; Volare (The Great Story of Domenico Modugno), which is a biographical miniseries about post-World War II actor Giuseppe Fiorello; and Anna Karenina is a 2x100mins/1x120mins adaptation of the seminal Russian novel of the same name.
Finally, Maradona is a 1x100mins doc about the divisive Argentinian football genius Diego Maradona. It incudes in-depth interviews with the late 20th century star, who is as well know for his drug abuse and colourful personality as he is as one of football’s greatest ever players.
