The executive joins from Discovery Networks Nordic where he was country manager, Sweden. The new role puts him in charge of one of Discovery’s chief rivals, with National Geographic and Nat Geo Wild part of the FIC portfolio.
Mörner will report to Ase Ytreland, FIC’s managing director for the Nordic region.
“He will be instrumental in helping us grow our Swedish presence further,” she said. “He has valuable experience from the television business, has a proven track record, and shares our passion for growth. I have great expectations to grow Nat Geo further, and providing better and more local service to our discerning clients and distributors.”
Mörner joins FIC in early November and will be based in the Swedish capital Stockholm. FIC is the channels division of Twentieth Century Fox, running FX, Nat Geo and Fox Sports among others.
