MTG buys Railway Journeys from FremantleMedia

Pan-European broadcaster MTG has prebought the upcoming season of Great Continental Railway Journeys from FremantleMedia International.

MTG will show the series on its Viasat History channel next year in deal that gives it exclusive rights to the series across 29 countries in the in the Nordic region, Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and the CIS.

The series follows former British politician Michael Portillo as he travels the great train routes of Europe, retracing the journeys featured featured in George Bradshaw’s 1913 Continental Railway Guide.

Separately, MTG’s pay TV arm Viasat has picked up seasons one and two of FMI-distributed Deadliest Warrior.
