TNT has ordered a cop drama from Steven Bochco (NYPD Blue), Murder in the First.
The US cable net’s production unit, TNT Originals, will produce the series.
It will be set in San Francisco and follow a team of detectives working on a single case through its ten-episode run. The case in question is a the murder of a drug addict who turns out to have connections to a Silicon Valley wonder kid.
TNT has recently greenlit three other new scripted series: Frank Darabont-produced Mob City, Michael Bay-produced The Last Ship and Sean Bean (Game of Thrones) action series Legends.
“Murder in the First sets up an engrossing, season-long mystery that’s certain to appeal to TNT fans,” said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies.
TBS International will handle distribution to the series outside North America.
