News brief: Discovery preps German launch for TLC

Discovery is preparing to roll out its female-skewing TLC channel in Germany.

The service is expected to run free-to-air, sitting alongside Discovery’s other ad supported free TV offering in the country, DMax.

Discovery declined to comment, but sources told TBI that launch plans are underway.

The US-listed channel operator has been aggressively rolling out TLC internationally, with a UK launch earlier this year. It has also been rolled out in Latin America, Scandinavia and Central and Eastern Europe.
