Paramount Channel launching in France

Viacom International Media Networks’ Paramount Channel is to launch in France this evening at 18:10 local time. The channel will broadcast in HD on the Canal+ pay TV platform, on the Numericable cable network and on IPTV platforms.

Paramount Channel will be available in HD and will also provide a TV Everywhere simulcast and a catch-up TV service that encompasses most of itsprogramming schedule.

Paramount Channel offers a range of classic and contemporary movies from the Paramount Pictures catalogue across all genres, kicking off with a Steven Spielberg season featuring movies including Minority Report, A.I., The Terminal and Amistad.

The French channel will also air two locally produced magazine stories, Le Buzz and Paramount Stories focusing on film industry news and the history of Paramount studios respectively.

Paramount Channel, which will be the fourth Viacom channel to launch in France after MTV, Nickelodeon and Game One, will be accompanied by a smartphone application with a full TV schedule, clips and web radio functionality, and a channel app will be made available for free download from the iTunes and Google Play stores in the near future.
