A+E gives Longmire third run

US cable channel A&E has commissioned a third season of its crime drama Longmire, according to an executive producer.

John Coveny, who developed the show along with Hunt Baldwin, tweeted that A&E parent A+E Networks has given a third run the greenlight following impressive ratings throughout season two.

“Thanks to the five million plus weekly fans, live+7. Young and older skewing alike! The call just came: season three for Longmire is a go!,” he wrote.

The latest episode of show scored 4.4 million viewers at 10pm on Monday night (August 26).
