Channel 5 begins Living on the Edge

UK terrestrial Channel 5 has commissioned a doc series from maverick filmmaker Chris Terrill that investigates why people live in the world’s most dangerous terrains.

Living on the Edge (WT) will see Terrill travel alone to the Arctic to follow the migration of the Sami people, who are thought to be Europe’s oldest culture; and to the deepest reaches of the Sahara to meet the Tuareg nomads.

“My journeys are completely open ended. I have no idea how long I am going for, nothing is set up, there is no script and no film crew,” said Terril. “This is TV adventuring as it should be – no smoke, no mirrors but as it happens and for real.”

The 4x50mins series’ will be produced by Uppercut Films. Terrill will film, direct and produce with Christine Hall executive producing.
