BBC Worldwide renews original Science Club series

Dara-o-briains-science-clubBBC Worldwide has given a second series order to Dara O Brian’s Science Club, which was one of the first wave of original series it commissioned for its international channels.

Worldwide, the commercial arm of the UK pubcaster, shares the cost of the series with the BBC Two channel and the new run of the coproduced popular science show will launch internationally this autumn.

It is carried on the BBC Knowledge and BBC HD channels in international markets. The science magazine show is fronted by the titular Irish comedian and presenter (Mock The Week) who, with a team of journalists and scientists, explores science issues and news.

Worldwide’s other originals include Million Dollar Intern and Best in Town.

Tracy Forsyth, VP commissioning, content, BBC Worldwide has pledged to deliver 100 hours of original programming to its BBC branded channels by 2014.
