Globo and Telemundo bring Handyman to market

My-Dear-HandymanTelenovela My Dear Handyman has launched on US Hispanic network Telemundo, and is set for the international market.

The series is the second coproduction between Brazilian media giant Globo and NBC Universal-backed Spanish-language broadcaster Telemundo.

The show is a remake of Globo’s original series Looks & Essence, which delivered an average 68% audience share in Brazil and a peak share of 77%. It was also sold into Europe with SIC in Portugal picking it up.

The international arms of Globo and Telemundo will share distribution duties on the Spanish-language version.

Sales activity will be shared in Europe and Africa and Globo will exclusively distribute it in Asia.

The project is the second the pair have worked on together after the Spanish-language remake of The Clone in 2009. That was shopped into over 50 territories.

My Dear Handyman tells the story of Griselda, who works as hired help to support her family and who falls in love with a married man.
