USA Network launches new NBCU TV Everywhere push

NBCUniversal has debuted a TV Everywhere service for USA Network – the first time it has launched the multi-screen programming initiative for one of its cable channels.

USA Now will give viewers access to USA Network programmes such as Graceland, Suits and Psych across a variety of connected devices a day after their linear broadcaster debut.

This week’s launch is only for iOS users, with an Android version to follow in later in the month.

TV Everywhere is the US broadcast networks answer to OTT services such as Netflix and digital piracy and is aimed at making programmes available almost immediately after launch in order to keep eyeballs with them.

“We know many of today’s viewers live in a time-shifted world and are consuming content on multiple screens. TV Everywhere allows us to cater to this audience,” said Chris McCumber, co-president of USA Network.

“Making our original series more accessible on digital platforms is a key driver of audience growth, and allows fans to interact with our content on an even deeper level,” added Jeff Wachtel, McCumber’s co-president.
