Spain, India, Malaysia looking for deals at CMC

New buyers and investors have confirmed their attendance at the upcoming Children’s Media Conference in Sheffield, UK. The event is attempting to introduce a commercial market alongside the regular conference and networking sessions, following the lead of kids events such as Kidscreen.

Organisers said that 40 buyers, investors and coproducers have confirmed their attendance at the ‘International Exchange’ and will be looking to acquire content, invest in projects and put together copro and financing deals.

The latest confirmed names include Yago Fandiño Lousa, kids content manager at Spanish pubcaster TVE who will be looking for transmedia content and ‘the next big thing’.

Biren Ghose, country head for Technicolor India will also attend and looking at copro opportunities.

Desmond Ngai is the other attendee just confirmed. He is manager, industry and business development, at Malaysia’s government-backed media funding organisation MDEC. He will be looking to meet with content companies keen to establish relationships with their counterparts in Asia and particularly Malaysia.

The Exchange costs CMC delegates an additional £45. The event takes place on 3-to-5 July next month.
