Sierra/Engine selling brainy new ABC drama The Black Box

Distributor Sierra/Engine will sell The Black Box, the straight-to-series midseason drama just ordered by ABC, internationally.

The US broadcast net has given the drama a thirteen-episode order and it will launch in 2014. It follows a world famous neuroscientist as she delves into the mysteries of the brain while dealing with her own family and mental health issues.

It will be made by Bold Films, the producer best known for hit movie Drive and is written by Amy Holden Jones (Indecent Proposal). Anne Thomopoulos (Rome) and Bryan Singer (X-Men) are among the exec producers.

Sierra/Engine was launched last year and its distribution slate includes NBC series Siberia (below), which debuts this summer, and Crossbones, which is for 2014. It is also selling Dolph Lundgren cable series Rescue 3.
