UK toon producers launch new digital IP biz

The producers behind CBeebies toon series The Koala Brothers have launched a new digital entertainment company and secured rights to its first property.

Sepllbound Entertainment’s Peter Curtis and Nick Barrington are behind Nurture Rights, which will seek to create interactive digital products for the international market place.

Nurture has secured rights to literary property Dinosaur Roar!, and has lined up plans to create a new website, an interactive exhibition, a 3D IMAX experience and live events.

Curtis is a former HIT Entertainment exec, while Barrington has worked in commercial and business affairs for Endemol and Action Time. Both remain directors UK indie Spellbound, whose show Koala Brothers has broadcast on the CBeebies channel in the UK for a decade.

Spellbound will continue to focus on television-led properties.
