Matt Hatter producer Platinum Films hires managing director

Platinum Films, the kids producer and distributor, has recruited Carl England as its managing director.

England joins Platinum from toy company Jakks Pacific, where he was head of international licensing. He has also worked at Disney.

Platinum makes and sells kids series including Matt Hatter Chronicles, Dream Street and Planet Cook.

England will work across all of its brands and oversee the international licensing and merchandising roll-out for Matt Hatter, which will start in earnest next year.

He will report to CEO Nigel Stone, who said: “There is no doubt that [England’s] invaluable knowledge and vast experience of the licensing industry will add great value to an already strong and creative team at Platinum and fuel the success of our rapidly expanding commercial business.”
