Tracy Morgan set for FX pilot

121207_0706_30rock_group30 Rock star Tracy Morgan will star in a new FX Networks half-hour comedy pilot.

Death Pact will follow Morgan (pictured above, left) as a formerly lazy, pot-dealing assistant high school coach that returns to his hometown a decorated war veteran with a radical self-help philosophy, which he uses on his former friends and students.

The pilot comes from Rob Long (Sullivan & Son) and Tad Safran (The Long Weekend), who write and executive produce. FX’s in-house production unit, FX Productions, produces and The Tannebaum Company (Two and a Half Men, We Are Men) is also attached, with Eric and Kim Tannenbaum also executive producing.

Morgan is best known for his eccentric role on NBC series 30 Rock and his performances on variety comedy show Saturday Night Live.
