Tesco’s TV service inks ITV deal

Clubcard TV has picked up a raft of classic ITV drama series and cooking shows.

Clubcard TV is the free OTT service for UK retailer Tesco’s 16 million loyalty card holders and is run by the people behind Blinkbox, the electronic sell-through service that Tesco bought in 2011.

It has inked a deal with ITV and taken rights to a selection of the UK commercial broadcaster’s scripted series. Titles include A Touch of Frost, Above Suspicion, Cracker, Inspector Morse, Lewis, Miss Marple, Cold Feet, The Darling Buds of May and Prime Suspect (pictured below).

Clubcard has also bought several of ITV’s cooking shows including Hell’s Kitchen USA, Britain’s Best Dish, Eat Yourself Slim with Rosemary, Great British Food and Marco’s Great British Feast.

The deal covers 160 TV episodes in all.

Scott Deutrom, managing director of Clubcard TV, said: “It’s great news for fans of quality drama that some of ITV’s best loved shows are coming to Clubcard TV. This is a significant new deal for us as many of the shows added will appeal to our heartland audience.”
