Electric Sky commercial director exits

Karen Young has left her position as commercial director of UK-based producer and distributor Electric Sky, TBI has learnt.

Young had been with the Brighton-based company for twelve years before her recent departure. As commercial director she ran Electric Sky’s sales and marketing divisions as well as developing new business.

It is understood she is exploring career options.

Electric Sky confirmed the departure and said there will not be a like-for-like replacement with responsibilities expected to be spread among the existing team, including senior sales manager Ben Packwood and head of sales Amy Kemp, who is currently on maternity leave.

Specialising in distribution of factual content, Electric Sky was founded by former TVF boss David Pounds in 1998. It has offices in the UK and Hong Kong.

Recent deals on the distribution side include the sale of historical series Mummy Mysteries to UKTV’s Yesterday channel and a 70-plus hour package of content to Italian arts and culture channel Sky Arte.
