ZDF Enterprises, the commercial arm of German public broadcaster ZDF, has inked a development deal with Sweden’s largest indie producer Tre Vänner.
The multiyear deal will see ZDFE sell new Tre Vänner series internationally. It has had success in recent years distributing Scandi drama, recently adding Death of a Pilgrim to its sales offering.
Projects coming out of the Tre Vänner partnership will, ZDFE said, be skewed to Scandi and German audiences and have international appeal given the enduring popularity of drama from the region.
Jonas Fors, CEO of Tre Vänner said: “ZDF Enterprises has been an important partner in developing the Scandinavian crime and making it an international success. Together we have the skills to create high quality TV productions for the viewers of tomorrow.”
Tre Vänner is besto known as the original prodcuer of crime series Wallander.
