News brief: Australia checks out Embarrassing Bodies

Shine Australia will produce the local series, titled Embarrassing Bodies Down Under, for Foxtel-owned channel LifeStyle YOU. It will feature Dr. Christian Jessen from the original UK series that broadcasts on Channel 4 (above).

The format sees Jessen diagnose the ailments of embarrassed patients. Production on the Australian version begins next month.

Hannah Barnes, Foxtel’s head of programming and commissions, LifeStyle group, said: “Embarrassing Bodies is one of LifeStyle YOU’s most successful properties, so it is a huge win for Foxtel not only to have secured the rights to a local version, but also to have Dr. Christian involved in this new production.”
