Red Bull’s ServusTV buys Hell on Wheels

ServusTV has acquired three seasons of US Western series Hell on Wheels.

The German channel is part of Red Bull Media House and has acquired the show from Endemol Worldwide Distribution.

ServusTV has taken rights across German-speaking Europe and will give the show its free TV premiere in Germany.

The series, which is produced by Entertainment One and Nomadic Pictures and is on cable net AMC in the US. It is set in post Civil War America and follows a revenge-seeking Confederate soldier.

Endemol USA originally developed the series and Endemol and eOne share distribution rights. Endemol sells it across Europe and eOne across the rest of the world.

In Europe it has been picked up by broadcasters including ITV in the UK, Antena 3 in Spain, TV3 in Sweden and Sundance Channel in several territories.

Season three of the series is currently in production, in Canada, and will debut in the US in August.
