Seacrest to produce variety series for Telemundo

Ryan Seacrest’s production company will coproduce a variety series for Spanish-language for US Hispanic channel Telemundo.

Duelo Musica: Super Estrella (Superstar Showdown) is billed as a “spectacular showdown between two well-known music icons who go head to head in a friendly music battle royale”. A live audience will vote on a winner each week.

Ryan Seacrest Productions will coproduce the show with the network.

The news came in Telemundo’s Upfront, in which the NBCUniversal-owned channel unveiled five telenovelas, two daytime series and a second season for children-themed The Voice spin off La Voz Kids.

The novelas are Dama y Obrero, La Impostora, Reina de Corazones, Camelia la Tejana and Santa Diabla (WT) and the daytime shows are celeb gossip show Suelta la Sopa and gameshow Entre Grandes y Chicos (WT).

Telemundo sister channel Mun2 also unveiled new reality series including celeb doc-series Viva Los Vargas, music series Reventon and a new English Premier League football show.
