Australian’s ABC and China’s CCTV have come together on a new non-verbal preschool children’s comedy.
Filming has begun on 52x12mins Hoopla Doopla, which has been in development for three years. The production includes a cast and production team from Australia and China and filming will continue over the next six months.
Beyond Screen Productions and the China Television Drama Production Centre are coproduction partners, while the Australian Children’s Television Foundation will shop it internationally.
To mark the series, which will broadcast in Australia on ABC4Kids in 2014, ABC chairman James Spigelman and managing director Mark Scott attended a ceremony at the CCTV studio hosted by CCTV editor-in-chief Lou Ming.
