MTG Studios options Scandi formats in France, UK and Germany

MTG Studios’ has secured options for key formats from its production company Strix, with producers in the UK, France and Germany and a commission in Finland.

Maverick, the All3Media-owned producer of Embarrassing Bodies has optioned My Best Friend in which dogs are found new owners.

Maverick’s Stephan Fleahy said: “My Best Friend is exactly the right mix of emotion and animals – a strong story with a definitive ending – that will appeal to the British as a nation of Dog Lovers.”

In Germany Odeon Entertainment has taken an option on Sleeping with the Stars, which has run for several seasons on TV4 in Sweden, MTV3 in Finland and TV2 in Norway. The show features up-close interviews with stars.

In Finland Nelonen has ordered a local version of Strix’s best-known format, The Farm. Production has started on the local version of the agricultural reality series.

MTG Studios also said that Shine has taken the French format rights to the show, which has already been shopped to 50 international broadcasters.
