Mark Burnett gameshow headed for Canadian channel

Spin offCanadian channel CHCH has commissioned a local version of a new Mark Burnett-developed gameshow.

Local producer Suddenly SeeMore… Productions is creating a 13-week run on Spin Off, a 30-minute “trivia and chance” series in which contestants can win thousands of dollars through the spin of a wheel.

The series has already been taped and is currently in post-production, with CHCH planning to work with advertisers to insert promo campaigns into episodes. It will launch this fall on Channel Zero-owned CHCH.

Mark Burnett’s One Three Media developed the format.

“Canada is such an important market for us and to launch an entirely new format with CHCH speaks volumes to their belief in the importance of creating original content for their schedule,” said One Three’s senior VP, international, C. Scot Cru.

“We know Spin Off will prove to be a strong addition to our fall line-up and an in-demand property for advertisers,” said Jennifer Chen, VP, programming, Channel Zero.
