Comedy Central orders HBO Digital series for TV

Comedy Central has ordered a full season run for Brody Stevens: Enjoy it!, a HBO Digital online comedy drama that has Hollywood comic Zach Galifianakis attached.

Viacom-owned Comedy Central has commissioned six episodes of the show, and will expand an existing six online episodes into half hours to make a 12-ep television series. Star Brody Stevens, Galifianakis, Mike Gibbons, Dave Rath, Comedy Central’s Ian Friedman and Jim Sharp and online comedy channel Funny Or Die executive produce.

The documentary-style series follows the ups and downs of Stevens, whose billed as “the funniest comedian you’ve never heard of”. It picks up soon after Stevens has a public mental breakdown and attempts to mend his LA life. Galifianakis and other comics such as Sarah Silverman will appear.

HBO originally commissioned it in shortform.

It will premiere this summer.

Stevens recently shot another Comedy Central series, The Half Hour, and a 17-ep digital series, Push and Believe for CC: Studios, Comedy Central’s online shortform website.
