Warner Bros buys rights to Spanish game show

Warner Bros International Television Production has taken format rights to Money Time, a Spanish game show.

The show debuted in Spain on April 3 on Mediaset channel Cuatro. It comes from Spanish prodco 60dB.

The format sees contestants buying time needed to answer questions by loading cash into a large hour glass. The fewer mistakes they make, the more cash they play for in the final round.

“We always hear from producers that they are looking for new game show formats that differentiate themselves from all the others out there, and Money Time does just that. 6OdB has put a unique twist on the game show genre; this is the first game show which uses the distinctive element of an hour glass to give contestants the ability to buy the number of minutes they need to answer questions,” said WBITVP’s senior VP, creative, format development and sales, Andrew Zein.
